Free Legal Clinic: Alternatives to Guardianship - Mithoff Pro Bono Program

Texas Law student volunteers help families assess which legal alternatives to guardianship are appropriate, then execute those documents under the supervision of an attorney. This workshop is meant to support people with intellectual disabilities and older adults who wish to avoid guardianship in the future.We discuss and execute the following documents: 1) powers of attorney, 2) psychiatric advanced directives, 3) supported decision-making agreements, and 4) designation of guardian before the need arises.
